Rejuvenation of Mullassery Canal

Kochi, India

Kochi, like many other cities in India, gradually turned its back from the water infrastructure and allowed it to degenerate- - socially, ecologically and spatially. The Mullassery canal is a man-made canal centrally located on the mainland portion of Kochi, connecting to the larger Thevara-Perandoor Canal on the east, and flowing into the backwaters at its western end.

An overarching conceptual master plan of the site comprising: a block diagram of relocated buildings on the KSRTC land, a public commute and circulation plan (within the site and the approach road), a concept for a sustainably - built terminal with connectivity to the city center and surrounding neighbourhoods.
